Those with straighter hair types are often looking for an easy way to introduce a slight wave and movement into their style. With just a flat iron and the placement of some knots throughout the head, you can create a sexy, mussed up texture on dry hair whenever you need a little lift – in no time at all and with little effort. There are no set rules, just a simple technique to help avoid those drab, limp hair days!
Earlier this year, Kérastase launched their Couture Styling collection, introducing a luxurious new way to style our hair. Well, the fun and creativity isn’t over just yet because they’ve topped off the line by adding two final products to the mix. Here’s the scoop on new Short Mania and Gloss Appeal for you to continue playing with and obsessing over these high fashion, high quality products that we can’t get enough of, either!
( SHORT MANIA )
This strong and flexible sculpting paste – ideal for short haircuts and men’s hair – spreads easily to give a clean, semi-matte structured style with finish. To define a look on short styles, use a chestnut sized amount of product and warm up with your hands before applying throughout the hair and focusing on tips. For longer pixie hair inspired by Jennifer Lawrence or Miley Cyrus, pair with a blow dry that is lifted at the root and style upward with your fingers. We love that Short Mania allows re-workable shaping and offers UV, heat, anti-frizz and humidity protection.
( GLOSS APPEAL )
Giving amazing shine instantly to smooth looks, this topcoat spray delivers for all hair types! The ultra-fine mist technology lightly adds that glossy appearance and radiance to hair while controlling frizz, and leaves no oily residue. Its UV filters make it a great product to use before flat ironing to protect and perfect mirror-like straight strands. It will even help keep humidity away. Spray all over dry hair as a finisher anytime to give locks a glossy top coat and even luster with a lightweight, couture finish. It doesn’t get easier than this!
“ Being the CEO of My Image Expert – an image and fashion consulting firm with offices in most US cities – I am constantly helping people change and upgrade their personal and professional image. Every week, I probably average about 3 makeovers which includes a change of hair color and style. It was time for me to orchestrate my own personal makeover and Butterfly helped me achieve my look! After being a blonde for seven years, I noticed that the texture of my hair was becoming very dry and brittle. Maintaining the roots every 3 months was not an issue but I started to wonder what my natural hair color actually looked like. When I arrived at Butterfly to see Keith, I brought a photo to show him exactly what I wanted to do with my color. It was a drastic change that I was more than ready to embrace. Keith has been my colorist for the past 3 years so when I showed him the photo, he was a bit shocked. He explained a few things and after some deliberation, he came up with a plan of attack. Several hours later, I was a brunette/honey blonde. Keith did such an amazing job implementing my look and took his time to focus on all the details. It was such a big change for me and I was a little nervous but I could not have been any happier with the results. “
– Erika Chloe, Personal Stylist / My Image Expert CEO
” Erika was determined about a dramatic change. At first, I was reluctant and wanted to just add lowlights to bring more dimension and depth to her blonde hue. I was concerned for the integrity of her hair, so I explained the commitment this change would require as far as “living with it,” if she didn’t love the new look. If Erika ended up unhappy, we would have to gradually work back to her blonde. However, the disappointed gaze staring back at me after I shared the safe idea motivated me to rethink my course of action. Undeterred, off we went… I kept it simple. I used LUO color by L’Oreal Professional in shade numbers 5 and 5.3 with 15 volume on her roots. After, I added added LUO 6.3 with 10 volume to the remaining root formula and painted dimension through her ends. After shampooing with Kérastase Bain Chroma Captive – a sulfate-free protective shampoo for color-treated hair – we dried the hair and added a few balayage highlights to the front. Erika felt we nailed it and her excited reaction to the new look made me so glad we went for it after all! Creating a natural-looking, deeper blonde color proved change a good thing – and that’s exactly what this image consultant orders! ”

Our team had the pleasure of learning from Oribe haircare’s master stylists Leonardo Manetti and Marco Santini during the salon’s last styling education class. For a piece of the pro hair tips we absorbed during the session, Butterfly’s Jason Dougherty lets us in on how he created these romantic, off the face styles. To craft the first look, it took putting the hair in five clean, tight ponytails on top of the head. He applied Superfine hairspray all over – a must for hold and shine. Starting from the bottom ponytail, he then made a fishtail braid, and connected the ponytails into the braid. Jason finished the fresh look with Dry texture spray (one of his most favorite products) to mess up the braid and create texture.
For the second high fashion updo, Foundation Mist and Grandiose Mousse was used to curl and set hair. On each section of hair, Superfine hairspray was applied before strands got rolled hair up with a curling iron. Once the entire head was set, Jason took each curl out – backcombing and teasing – then repinned. Next came the hard part…the hairstyle was literally constructed by being sewn in with a needle and thread to hold in place. Disclaimer: this advanced technique is not an easy one, even for the experts! To add in more texture, Dry spray was spritzed onto curls. For a special touch of festive glamour, 24k Gold pomade was painted onto the hair for dimension and hold.
If your hair would make someone think twice about how much time (if any) you’d spent getting ready, then you’re probably wearing the new tousled wave! Taking a look at the models from Emilio Pucci’s runway show, the hairstyle we’re seeing now is not quite “bedhead” or “beach waves.” We like to call this trending texture “done-undone” – and it’s a new brand of sexy hair. The trick in styling the look is being random and imprecise because it gets more gorgeous from the imperfections – leaving room for embracing any mistakes! To create the right kind of unfussy waves, we love using a few of our product faves from Kérastase’s Couture line.
Prep damp hair with a product that protects from heat and helps support your style, like Forme Fatale blow dry gel. Using your hands, scrunch hair as you blow dry to create a rough foundation with structure and hold. Or, start on next day dry hair.
Take 2-4 inch sections of hair and mist with Spray a Porter – a product that mimics beachy hair texture and helps to enhance waves. Twist each section and knot into a pretzel-like shape, making a loop in the middle of the hair strand and pulling the ends through. Spray again. Use a flat iron and press flatly on knot. Pinch motion with iron down the rest of the hair shaft. Move on to next section and repeat throughout head, allowing knotted strands to cool before breaking up the hair.
Release each knot. Spray hair generously with a texture spray/dry shampoo (we really love the gentle and soft results from Powder Bluff) and break up the wave. Texturize by taking hair sections between hands – rubbing and rouging lengths with your fingers from the bottom up to create a roughness to your style. Spray again and repeat until you’ve reached desired tousle. Finish with hairspray. For those of you that like to do your hair the night before, you can forgo the flat iron after you’ve created knots and sleep on a loose side ponytail or tie hair back overnight then break up the hair in the AM.
TEXTURE TWIST PONY
Start with next day hair. Spray from roots to ends with a dry shampoo spray like Oribe’s Dry to create a grip in the hair and absorb oils. If you prefer to start with clean hair, apply a volume-enhancing product at the root area like Lift Vertige and a styling product that helps with keeping structure like Forme Fatale (both by Kérastase) from lengths to ends and blow dry damp hair using a round brush.
Divide the hair into two sections. First is a triangular, “Mohawk” section on top of the head. For your second section, create a tight ponytail in the middle back of the head as your second. Take your mohawk and set crown area with a large curling iron or pin curl set, spraying each section with hairspray for hold. Once set is ready, tease each section with a comb from roots to ends, thinking “high and wild” for body. But don’t worry – next you brush the top softly to smooth and create your shape, choosing your desired height and fullness here. Or, play with twisting the hair away from the face and back towards ponytail base.
You can use more dry shampoo spray as you’re working for a tactile texture. Lightly brush back and pull the top teased section over to one side. Spray with hairspray for secure hold. Drag the second half over to the opposite side and spray. Take the two sections and go under your ponytail, wrapping around the ponytail until you’re left with just the ends of the hair. An easy way to secure these ends is to tie with a clear plastic band under your ponytail. Finish off the sides of your head – or anywhere you’d like more smoothness – with a serum like Kérastase Touch Finale for extra shine.

Backstage at NY Bridal Fashion Week at Canoe Studios, Butterfly stylist Dana Tizzio helped create a neat and off the face wedding style for Marchesa’s 2014 Spring/Summer Bridal collection. To get the couture, feminine look, we asked our wedding hair and updo specialist Dana for the tips it took to get her model’s ethereal style just right for the 50’s inspired line.
See the dresses that hit the Marchesa runway in April 2013
Kérastase PRODUCT MUSTS
1. Age Premium Mousse Substantif – its Collagen-infused formula adds weightless definition and flexibility for long lasting style.
2. Elixir Ultime – versatile nourishing oil for a shiny, soft finish.
3. Laque Dentelle – micro-fine hairspray with buildable hold and anti-frizz protection.
GET THE LOOK
Surprisingly, no hot tools were necessary for constructing this simple style! Dana says it took a specific technique for getting this fitted twist, wet look down for the NYC show. Prep dry hair by soaking it with mousse first – using a generous amount to make strands look wet. The mousse provides a foundation for the hair with enough hold for easy support. With hair tight at the nape, secure a ponytail at the back. Split ponytail ends in two sections and twist each part, making two twists. Create your desired style by twisting each twist into a figure 8 shape and pin. It should only take about 3-5 pins, depending on hair type.
You can choose to forego the twists and keep an elegant ponytail by making two ponytails on top of each other (top and bottom sections) and combine, leaving some hair out to twist around the base and cover hair ties. Spray with hairspray as you work for both styles and then again to finish your look. For extra shine, apply an oil serum – especially to smooth hair at the base and for creating a sleek side part. For an undone ridge at the front of your part (as pictured), hold sections of hair between a comb and your finger to cause separation and spray. Add a soft smoky eye with bronze or metallic shadow, doll pink cheeks, glossy lips and you’re ready to walk down the isle (even if only at a special event)!
Consider the Photo Finish a solution for safely amping up your hair color without a huge commitment! To celebrate our newest product partnership, we made a day out of welcoming the luxury brand to the salon…with a party! Our technicians have been so inspired by the line, and we wanted the opportunity to share the excitement with our clients. In true Butterfly fashion, we threw a big party to offer a fun experience for previewing some of our favorite hair styling miracles! Our stylists created braids, ponytails, and perfect waves on our party-goers all night long while our colorists played with hair chalking in combos of beautiful colors. And to really show the power of the products, Butterfly founder and master stylist Kattia Solano hosted a very special hair demo inspired by high fashion looks, right off the runway. She was joined by the amazing Adam Livermore – one of Oribe’s top creative ateliers – to execute show-stopping styles for attendees. After entertaining us with teasing, spraying, brushing, and even hair SEWING styling magic – makeup artist Francesca Roman put the “finishing touches” on our four lovely models, transforming them into editorial bombshells.
Thanks to the generosity of all who make up our Butterfly family, we are pleased to announce that together we’ve raised yet another incredible donation total for breast cancer
(going to charity organizations Breast Treatment Task Force & SHARE) :
We celebrated our third effort in giving back to breast cancer this year with a better than ever Give Back Brunch! The salon was upbeat all day and as you looked around, it brought an overwhelming sense of joy to see everyone smiling and happy. For us, that alone defines a successful event! Clients enjoyed their pampering Butterfly service rituals, expressing how appreciative they were of our team for devoting their time and effort to such a great cause. We loved playing host – just about as much as Kattia’s hubby Mr. Sabatino relished bartending and treating us to the most deliciously designed cocktails all day!
Sharing drinks aside, our other favorite part of the event were the kids! We had so much fun connecting with them – giving their tad-bit-overgrown cute shags a little trim, braiding their hair, and getting creative with art and sparkly nails. The children were extra fond of our color assistant Joshua, who they proclaimed master face painter. Anything that would make their day, made ours! Add in complimentary hair treatments and products by Kérastase, cheesing it up in the photobooth, and snacking on Bill’s Bar & Burger…we’d call opening our doors on the last Sunday of October a huge success! Thank you to everyone who spent this special day with us to help Butterfly reach our donation mark. Your support is simply priceless and we hope you had the best time!

We find it incredible that Butterfly’s charity efforts for breast cancer are supported by NY’s amazing community each year. It’s a gift to be in a position where we’re able to bring people together in light of such an important cause, reminding us of the unexpected ways that it can hit home between our client connections and of the positivity it can create, too. For us, our favorite part is meeting new people in the process who touch our hearts with their generosity – and even their courage. This past October, there were two stories in particular which came out of our Give Back Brunch and left a lasting impression on us.
The event was no doubt a family affair… One of our clients came in alongside all of the women in her family, each participating in giving back with a service of their own. It was so beautiful to see this group of moms, daughters, aunts, and nieces – consisting of multiple generations – contributing in such a thoughtful way together. Such beauty through and through! In another stand out moment, we said goodbye to 8 inches of hair. One of our dearest clients was personally inspired by how important breast cancer month is to her and found the strength and bravery on that special Sunday to donate her hair. Butterfly stylist Nicole Descoteaux helped in the effort – measuring the hair, cutting off the perfect pony length, and then cutting into her locks to reveal a gorgeous, short new look! It was truly so powerful to see someone just go for it, when many of us are naturally so afraid of losing any of our long hair, ever. These ladies all showed so much love and highlighted the true spirit and importance of the day. We thank you for giving back so greatly!
If you’re hitting that Great Gatsby themed party, feeling inspired by the styles seen on Downton Abbey or Boardwalk Empire, or have always just wanted to try a flapper girl look for your next date or event… Butterfly educator and senior stylist Nicole Descoteaux gives her DIY tips for achieving a simple 1920’s hairdo at home, to help you get all dolled up in no time!
Decide which side you prefer to section and separate hair to create a strong part. Starting horizontally, curl your hair – curling the hair under. To create more of that classic twenties finger wave look, make sure all of the curls are on a horizontal line. Pay close attention to your technique, seeing that it follows a curl direction that’s going under. You’ll need to clip each section immediately after it is curled to set the hair. For perfect waves, it’s best to use as small of a curling iron as possible and work with smaller hair sections sized accordingly to fit your iron choice.
After the entire head is curled, take your setting clips out and softly brush through your hair. This breaks up your curls, creates volume, and blends the hair into that ideal wave style throughout. If you want bigger hair, you can always lift hair sections and tease after brushing out. Then you’re ready to start styling your playful updo, which can take the shape of a faux bob. Separate hair into three sections. Make a “V” section – section out the sides, leaving the center part of the “V” out. Start rolling the sides back and pin. Continue this from front to back then do the other side. Drop the center part of the “V” out. Roll and pin to create a style you like and finish with a hair accessory. There’s so much creative wiggle room with rolling and pinning, so it’s such a great, easy way to do your own hair anytime you have a special occasion to get dressed up for!
Our salon founder/ master stylist Kattia Solano was due for a cut of her own recently, just to trim the ends and keep long hair at its healthiest. Prior to her appointment, she went back in forth on the decision between considering a huge change for fall – especially since she’s been loving recreating all of the shorter lengths being requested in her own chair. Up to the moment her hair was being shampooed, the daunting question still loomed: “Should I or shouldn’t I?” And as many of us do – she chickened out. She had decided to refresh her layers instead – and with that came beautiful textured waves, and a huge sigh of relief! Then, a week later, something changed…
Now that we’re moving away from dewy summer looks, many of us prefer that our skin becomes a little more matte and gets a bit more coverage this time of year. Our new favorite skin-perfecter… Kevyn Aucoin’s velvety Sensual Skin Powder Foundation. It’s the best transition from a liquid with its oil-free powder formula, consisting of light reflecting properties to give skin a young and fresh look that’s luxurious to the touch. Designed not to settle into lines and pores, you get the option of versatile coverage along with its unbelievably light texture to deliver a silky skin glow no matter what your skin type (but if you’re oily, this is extra amazing). It’s available in six different shades, by the way.
From a sheer dusting all over the face to your midday shiny area touchup, it’s got uneven patches and redness covered! Butterfly makeup artist Francesca Roman loves to use a foam applicator for long wear because you get more control in your initial application. A dry sponge provides matte coverage, while a damp sponge offers lightweight, ultra-sheer coverage. Dry skin will especially appreciate the sponge – which avoids a flaky look. However, she recommends using a brush to hit the under eye area for a lighter, natural application. Post sponge, she says to go for it with an all over powder brush to apply the foundation and perfect that lustrous, radiant skin finish. You’ll love your silky-smooth natural look!

Long hair is blooming this season. Whether your hair lacks proper nutrition, has suffered from damage or hormonal changes, is in the process of growing out after a bad haircut, or simply could be longer, thicker, or in better shape…then you’ll love this system we’ve designed for getting to your dream hair! It’s simple, really. We supply you with the products that we’ve found to truly work and the knowledge and tips for working towards your best hair ever – and then it’s in your hands to follow the routine at home and see real results in just two months. If you’re serious about committing to growing your hair out long and turning your texture around, watch the video below to see salon founder Kattia Solano explain our expert plan on how to get lush, shiny, strong beautiful lengths like hers via Butterfly’s favorite haircare regimen turned DIY CHALLENGE!
We always love a good rendition of a fabulous 20′s hairstyle for an event or wedding! For the look, you’ll need to curl your entire head (no particular sections) just to get a good amount of curl in there as your base. Section out the entire top of your hair – temple to temple and back to the crown. Starting on the sides – in front of the ear – take a small ponytail section and twist the curls around and pin it. The next ponytail is right behind the ear, again bunch up the curls and pin it. The third ponytail goes at the nape, bunch up the curls and pin it. Now create the same 3 ponytails on the other side of the head. This should look like a very short curly bob when all the ponytails are in and pinned.
Take down your top section and put on your choice of headband. If you can’t find the right accessory, you can even use an old belt, necklace, or bracelet! Beginning on the sides, start to roll the hair around the band and pin. This will incorporate the bottom and the top of the up style together. Take a hint from the amazing Francis (Butterfly’s makeup expert) and add some defining blush, a strong black eyeliner, faux lashes, and bright bold red lips to look and feel like the bee’s knees!
When I’m on vacation, or I find myself away long enough to have to pack a part of my hair regimen, choosing hair products and tools that are multifunctional are a must. I make sure to bring items that are versatile in their benefits and the way they can be used (even the functionality of when they are used should be considered), making sure they go along with the conditions of where I’m going and how exactly I’m getting there. Recently I took a road trip along California’s Pacific Coast Highway and found the following picks to be most handy, and among my very favorite essentials for traveling…
In this New York Live feature, salon founder & Butterfly master stylist Kattia Solano shows Lilliana Vasquez the many ways you can make a headscarf your new favorite hair styling accessory! Braids, knots, and even a “headband” of highlights inspired by the placement of a headscarf. . .
Ponytails are always popular around this time of your for a low maintenance, pulled together look that can be dressed up or down. You already love the idea of wearing a noncommittal clip-in bang so we thought we’d offer the option to add a faux ponytail as an accessory for the night, too! Faux ponytails are an easy way to achieve that perfect fishtail or ponytail you have your eyes set on but don’t necessarily have the length or texture for. We customize ponytails with an expert cut and a style (wavy or straight), and highly recommend adding them in for an updo to keep structure in the hair and get the most out of any look. For a full transformation in one appointment, try a dry styling session and get that braid, ponytail, knot, or twist you’ve had your eye on. Amp it up by adding a matching bang, more lengths, a headscarf, or a mix of it all for a whole new you in minutes!

Featured Designers: Avocet, Olga Prieto, Family Heirloom by Claudio Concato, Jaline Vintage and more surprises. Introducing collections by Camille Tauss and Jerarda Lake.
Exclusive first showing of…
Jerarda Lake jewelry line was established in 2013 in Mexico City by Jerarda Lake – Native New Yorker, raised in Mexico. Jerarda’s collection and designs are handcrafted organic pieces, forged in bronze, white bronze, silver 925, and other metal combinations created by artisans in the magical town of Taxco, Mexico.
On the rooftop of her house she improvised her first workshop. She began working with different metals and techniques to create unique jewels. The journey of her first collection Metal Melt resulted in a powerful series of handcrafted pieces that stand by themselves emanating their impact and exquisite organic beauty breathing out a touch of sorcerous charm. Her work made a runway appearance at NYC’s Fashion Week and has been featured in renown magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, InStyle, and Grazia to name a few.
The jewels of Camille Tauss are the result of a mixed inspiration from the cosmopolitan Paris, where she comes from, and Mexico, her country of adoption. Shortly after settling in Mexico DF, she became fascinated by the culture, the local art craft, the Mexican savoir-faire, and she started studying the art of jewelry making. Curious and enriched with memories from her travels, she has a keen interest in esthetics and design. Jewelry making is for her a way to express her creativity and her deep taste for line purity and richness of materials.
Camille’s jewels are meticulously hand-made, and the stones are chosen one by one and carefully assembled. The preciousness of the materials – silver 925, gold and gold-plated, fine gems, natural and semi-precious stones, gives a subtle richness to this fusion.

Charlize Theron says, “Every woman should do it!” Does this show-stopping cut seen at this year’s Academy Awards spark you with the want to make a bold change?
At the 2013 Oscars, Charlize Theron looked absolutely UNREAL…and we’re not talking about the gorgeous peplum Dior gown she wore. Simple yet stunning, we are absolutely obsessed with her cut! We are all about her hair right now – it brought out the actress’s most feminine, chiseled angles in the way the cut opened up her face, neck, and overall figure. She looked like the perfect modern goddess! Almost falling short of being a pixie, we feel this look is better described as a soft, “boyish” crop. Special attention with scissor work helped to create a fun texture that followed around the shape of her head and face, as fitted as a glove. On the carpet, Charlize talked about her short hair, mentioning “It’s the most feeing thing, I highly recommend it.” She said that tossing two garbage bags full of products truly gave her a sense of freedom…no wonder she wore the look with such confidence and grace! Inspired by the effortless, low-maintenance beauty of Charlize’s hair, Butterfly founder and master stylist Kattia Solano recently went for a very similar ‘do at her NYC salon chair. Kattia felt that a boy-like chop and a brilliant new shade of deep brunette with playful notes of highlights was more suited for her client’s pretty facial features, amazing eyes, and cool personal style…an unbelievable transformation to rival Charlize Theron’s!
February is the month of love! With Cupid on our mind, we are feeling inspired to wear that smoldering eye look and perfect our pout with a sexy, new shade of lip color. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, our experts Francesca Roman and Cristina Marroquin cam help you learn how to get romantic with your makeup so you can feel empowered to DIY and channel your inner vixen for any night out! For a limited time only, our one-on-one Kevyn Aucoin mini tutorials are now 20% off their regular value of $75.

Giving Back to Breast & Ovarian Cancer: Our Butterfly Gives Back Sunday Brunch!
We opened our doors on October 21st to donate to a cause very special for the Butterfly team, our clients, and our community. With you help, we made an amazing day out of it! You booked appointments to support our event in which we donated 100% of service proceeds to the women’s cancer support organization SHARE! Our gratitude goes out to everyone involved…thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! It truly would not have been the same without every single one of you. We had delicious brunch food (thank you Benvenuto!) and yummy drinks, spent time playing with all of the adorable kids that came in for haircuts that day, painted faces, polished nails, created gorgeous hair (the famous Butterfly way), and had an absolute BLAST! We feel these photos show the spirit of the positive day and hope you have just as much fun viewing them as we did in these moments. Enjoy!
Min Kim, Butterfly Senior Colorist/Educator:
I have to admit, I have an amazing work schedule. Tuesday through Friday I spend my days with the best clients ever and on weekends, I often have the privilege of representing L’Oréal Professionnel as a national educator and Balayage Artist. This customized technique offers many options on all types of hair. Every client (or model… when I’m traveling) leaves the chair with beautiful color designed for their cut, style, face-shape, and lifestyle. It’s a something-for-everyone kind of color service. Check it out!

Thanks to you, our Butterfly family, we are pleased to announce that together we have raised an incredible total to donate to SHARE:
“This is really very special given these hard times. We have found more and more women are calling our support line as they are dealing with financial issues as a result of the economy, i.e., losing health insurance due to job loss, lack of income to pay for treatment, etc. Thank you!”
We are so thankful that giving back to Breast Cancer in October was such a huge success! This is an unforgettable 10-year mark we have made! Every personal donation, each t-shirt sold, and all Fusio-Dose treatments helped contribute to our goal. We especially want to thank everyone who came in and supported our Butterfly Brunch. Fueled by giving back, and full of our collective excitement to be making a difference, the high energy of the salon on that special day could be felt by anyone stepping foot in the salon. Along the way, we saw old friends and new faces walk through our doors, and it felt amazing to celebrate such an important cause together. We’re grateful for the memories and new friendships we’ve made during this process. Your support is dear to us. We hope to continue making this a tradition with you and give back to other charities in the future!
Special thanks to the people behind our Give Back mission: Sujean Rim – for contributing her beautiful illustration and for always giving Butterfly the most gorgeous works of art over the last 10 years! Chad Kamenshine – for his creative web design. Benvenuto – for donating a delicious menu to our Butterfly Brunch.
During New York Fashion Week Fall 2011 season, Kérastase followed top model Hanne Gaby Odiele to document her hair experience from backstage and runway to Butterfly Studio for a healthy hair rescue…
We at Butterfly Studio proudly celebrated our 10th anniversary this year! This couldn’t have been accomplished without the support of every single one of you – our clients, staff, and the entire community. Our team at Butterfly Studio has always taken pride in coming together to work collectively towards the success of our goals. We all have a story to share about how breast cancer has impacted our lives; we are uniting in October and dedicating this month to Breast Cancer Awareness. We invite all of our clientele to join us as a family, reach out to our community and ask anyone that has gone through the struggle of breast cancer to join us through October as we stand up by giving back!
Breast Cancer affects everyone, from the women fighting against the disease, to the families and loved ones supporting them. Throughout the years, the cause has been held close to our hearts and we have always found the importance in being involved – whether by offering wig haircuts, offering free services to those donating their hair, or by simply accommodating women in treatment with a private, comfortable setting during their visit. We’ve even created jewelry pieces to honor friends and clients who have battled this disease with all profits from the jewelry pieces donated to charity. This year, we are giving back to SHARE– a local, nonprofit organization helping women with breast or ovarian cancer. On Sunday, October 23rd we are excited to say that we will be donating our time by providing full services and brunch. 100% of all sales made that day will be donated to SHARE!
Why SHARE, you ask? Our passion for self-improvement extends to the beauty of our clients. Through our caring approach, we believe in providing a service promoting health, wellness, and leaving you feeling beautiful from the inside out. In many ways, the NY foundation SHARE empowers its network of patients with the same piece of mind. SHARE is a support system helping women, their families and friends cope with cancer. They offer participants the opportunity to receive and exchange information, strength and hope – free of charge.
