With over 30 years of experience, Butterfly Studio Salon founder Kattia Solano is a female industry pioneer who embodies a strong and fearless entrepreneurial spirit.
Beauty runs in my lineage. A native of Costa Rica and third generation stylist, its always been important for me to embody my culture and embed it into my life's work. I truly believe that the culture of Butterfly Studio comes from the heart of Costa Rica, the essence of who I am. I love a personal approach to hair by exploring textures, visions, and individual hair goals to create a customized style for each client. I love working with hair to make it look beautiful. Hair can have its own personality at times. It can be sassy, calm, wild, lovable, sexy and even moody which makes styling so exciting. I feel extremely grateful that I can use my art to help transform people's lives by focusing on inner beauty, confidence, empowerment and self esteem. Throughout my career in the salon, as an editorial stylist, and educator, my ultimate goal has always been for hair to represent the person's true essence.

DANA
Williamsburg native Dana Tizzio always dreamed of being a stylist. She joined the Butterfly Salon Studio team 15 years ago and is best known for Updo’s and styling for weddings and special occasions. Dana is also Butterfly Studio Salon’s Cezanne Classic Treatment expert. Overall, Dana is most popular with our long hair clientele!
CORTNEY
Starting her vibrant career 13 years ago at Vidal Sassoon in Santa Monica, Cortney is known for giving her clients effortless texture & perfectly tailored styles. From the fashion forward streets of NYC to the beaches of Miami, her work has been celebrated & featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar & Fashion Week runways.
ALEXIS
Alexis began her career over a decade ago on the Upper Eastside where she perfected coiffed, precise, and classic cutting and styling. There she also acquired the venerable skill of handling sheitels and is able to custom tailor them to each individual. Her hunger for more brought her to Butterfly Studio where she learned to incorporate modern details.. She loves making hair fun and effortless and takes one’s lifestyle into account so they’re able to look and feel comfortably chic in every atmosphere.

JULIANNA
Starting at the age of 18, Julianna attended several months of Vidal Sassoon courses in La. There she learned appreciation and understanding for precision haircutting, and perfecting styling techniques. At the age of 20 she moved to NYC to achieve her goal of becoming a Vidal Sassoon stylist. In the 5 years she worked for the company , she styled consecutively every season for NYFW and helped teach styling techniques for their cutting courses. She then decided to venture out of the company to continue evolving and learning new techniques to add to her repertoire. Julianna is inspired by the streets of NYC, music scenes, and film. Although her goal is to stay diverse with her work, she loves creating effortless, sultry, lived in looks for both men and women.
MARILYN
A witty and colorful hair artist inspired by her time working in cities like Chicago and New York since 2018: Marilyn’s technical approach curates an effortless, lived in look, tailored to each clients’ individual style. Due to her versatility, Marilyn offers eclectic haircuts and smoothing treatments
DANIELLE
Coming from Minneapolis, Danielle has worked in the beauty industry since 2015 gaining experience in hair cutting, bridal styling, editorial work, and fashion shows. Kim is a sought out colorist for major color correcting projects, and has made a name for herself at Butterfly Studio Salon! Having worked with color in both New Jersey and New York City, this L’Oreal certified balayage artist has spent the last 9 years perfecting her craft. Kim is best known for her unique style and her incredible and transformative color corrections!
SINÉAD
A native New Yorker with nearly a decade in the beauty industry, Sinéad trained for 2+ years under L’Oréal Pro Global Educator Min Kim. She cultivated her skills and mentorship at Butterfly Studio Salon. Sinéad’s work is inspired by a balance between modern city trends and nature. She is known best for her customized color, with natural, lived-in and soft finishes that are unique to every client.
IVY
Licensed by Soho’s Aveda Institue, Ivy has been committed to the beauty industry for over 6 years. As a New York native, she is especially influenced by the vibrancy that continuously surrounds her. With a creative background in Fine Art and fashion, she views hair as her canvas and has a keen eye for all things color and texture. Ivy enjoys experimenting in color with all hair types from curly and textured to straight and wavy. Her main mission as a colorist is to have her clients leave Butterfly Studio feeling beautiful and confident.
ALEJANDRO
With more than a decade in the industry, Alejandro’s passion for natural color and smoothing treatments has led him on a journey to help others unleash their dramatic beauty within. Alejandro’s call to hairstyling was born in his hometown of Santiago, Chile where the women in his family treasured the moments of community and expressing their cultura latina. Alejandro is thrilled to continue that tradition with his Butterfly Studio familia, where everyone shares in the joy of highlighting the natural beauty of their clients. It is his mission to find the perfect balance between your creative expression and the health of your hair, because healthy hair is beautiful hair.
JESSICA
Jessica is a technician with 5 years experience in the beauty industry. She uses her love for art and her creative background to express herself through hair color. She is a native New Yorker and an attendee of Career School Of NY. Jessica loves the balayage technique and uses it to range from subtle brunettes to bright blondes. Her goal is to have her clients feel and look their best.
